The Lions Club of South East Business, Wheelers Hill-District 201 V5 Australia, is on an ambitious Project together with the Lions Club of Hendala District 306 B1,Sri Lanka, to assist the under privileged people suffering from blindness due to cataract, to regain their sight through a cataract operation free of charge.

Sight First, is an universal project of the Lions Clubs International and to date has restored sight of over seven million people with over 150 million eye screenings around the world.

In Sri Lanka there are over 350,000 patients awaiting surgery and this number is growing. The government Health Service can operate approximately 45,000 patients a year which results in long waiting periods.

The objective of the Lions Club of South East Business is to highlight this problem and raise funds initially for 1000 Cataract Operations.

Your donation of $30/= will go towards the cost of an Intra Ocular Lens

required for each operation. This in turn will enable the doctors to perform this operation on a patient free of charge.
